I choose to use Padlet for this assignment. My lesson plan from week four was a research project where each student would select a state and research it to create a final project using Google Custom Search Engines and Blabberize. I decided to use Padlet to engage students in collaboration because it can be accessed on a variety of devices and is easy to use, which is important for fourth graders. Since the research project is independent, I wanted to give students a chance to see what kinds of information their classmates were finding for their project. I would use Padlet at the start of each class while students are researching. The question I selected for this Padlet was "Name one fun fact about your state." Students will have to answer the question and then respond to 3 other responses. This interaction allows students to encourage one another's research, ask questions about the research, and compare their research to other students. Many times when students research, they are on an island all by themselves. Using Padlet allows them to share what they are finding as well as ask questions and seek help if needed.
