Kappa Delta Pi is an international honor society designed specifically for the field of education. The chapter at OSU was recently restarted and I was a charter member. Along with my membership comes a variety of resources for the classroom. The following list I have compiled of my involvement with this organization.

IRA ConferenceMay 2014
New Orleans, LA I attended the 59th Annual Conference of the International Reading Association in New Orleans. I attended sessions on working with diverse populations, diversity in literature, and many other thought provoking seminars. I also had a chance to explore the rich history and culture of New Orleans. |
Kappa Kappa iotaAugust 2014 - May 2016
Kappa Kappa Iota is a professional teaching organization located on college campuses all across the United States. It was originally founded in Stillwater in 1961 as a place for teachers to share teaching ideas and socialize. Today, it has becoming a top organization for professional development. I am a member of this organization and have attended the following professional development sessions with them.

Library of CongressThe United States Library of Congress offers free professional development to the teachers of this great nation. They have created online modules to help teachers learn about and analyze primary source documents. This knowledge can then be taken into the classroom to enrich lessons and students. I completed their online professional development module entitles "Analyzing Primary Sources: Photographs and Prints" in July of 2015.
