For my final project, I wanted to expand on the project I did in Module 8 over augmented reality. In that assignment, I created an AR read-aloud where when the cover of the book was scanned various activities would pop up for students to use. I really liked the idea of being able to use these resources during Guided Reading centers to keep students engaged in independent reading.
For the final project, I decided to make an AR library - consisting currently of 20 titles with room to grow. In the original project I used Layar, however after one project the site begins to charge you. As both a student and educator I didn't want to pay currently. I found a site called Zapworks which allowed a 30 day free trial and subscription after that time period so I selected their platform for the project.
I began by recording myself reading each title to be included in the project. I then began building Zapcodes for each title. I included one additional reading resource, one video, and a short assignment with each title. I have provided the Zapcodes below, but in the classroom I would print them and adhere them to the books themselves so students always have access to the Zapcode.
