The literacy toolkit is designed with activities to support five areas of literacy: comprehension, fluency, phonics, phonemic awareness, and vocabulary. Any teacher who is teaching reading should be aware of these five areas and be reinforcing them in the classroom. There are several of these areas, comprehension and vocabulary for example, which could be introduced and reinforced in any grade level. I have tried to include activities for both younger and older students when activities for these two groups were available. Some aspects of the toolkit occur more heavily at a primary school level, and therefore activities for older students were not available. Any activities or ideas that were not my own are given credit in the particular post they occurred in.
